As a federal enterprise, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its international cooperation goals. GIZ is seeking applications from qualified professionals for its GIZ Office in Kathmandu. The Office works to ensure that the company is consistently represented and that it is successfully positioned as a provider of services for sustainable development. It closely collaborates and coordinates with the German Embassy, Partner Institutions from the Government, Civil Society, and the Private Sector. It manages human resources and provides financial and commercial support services for the Programs as well as human resources management. Regular audits are conducted to all Programs to ensure the appropriate application


GIZ 

Procurement and Contracting Specialist


Position: Procurement and Contracting Specialist
Duty Station: Kathmandu 

Responsibilities:

  • Create standard contracts for regional and local consultants that projects request.
  • Provide projects and programs with advice when signing leases and consulting service agreements.
  • Carry out contracts in compliance with GIZ directives, including appropriate paperwork.
  • procedures for restricted and public tenders, as well as for concluding lease agreements and consulting services contracts for GIZ Nepal and the GIZ Office.
  • Create appraiser contracts for consultants from Germany and other countries.
  • Create appraiser contracts for consultants from Germany and other countries.
  • Draft contracts for event management, and work with the project to find any necessary supplementary materials.
  • Keep track of the contract's implementation progress and update the contract tracking sheet.
  • Examine the status of contract reports on a regular basis, inform project teams of each individual project's progress, and ensure that open contracts are promptly concluded.
  • Refreshes and maintains a consultant database.
  • GIZ Local consultancy prices are periodically updated.
  • Makes sure that all procurement contracts are properly filed and files all contract documents together with the final financial closure.
  • Control agents that cooperate with the GIZ, offering framework contracts as needed, training on procurement procedures, and project advice.
  • Exchanges information between the projects/programs more easily
  • Annual report on service procurement.
  • Start the framework agreement for GIZ Nepal's ongoing services.
  • As asked by the head of procurement and contracting, assist the procurement unit in preparing standard financing agreements, local subsidies, commodities procurement, and logistics.

Required qualification and experience:

  • a bachelor's degree in management, business administration, business studies, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience working in a similar role
  • very strong operational understanding of computer programs (e.g., MS Office) and ITC technologies (associated software, phone, fax, email, and internet).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities in Nepali and English
